Winner of the 2020 Wine Tourism Trophies Golden Prize in the “Education and Environmental Protection” category, Château de L’Escarelle holds Haute Valeur Environnementale (High Environmental Value) certification and is converting to organic farming, but gave up herbicides and pesticides a long time ago.

An ardent protector of biodiversity, Yann Pineau bought the estate after he fell in love with it back in 2014. His aim?  To restore the ecosytem that existed there 100 years before.

Nothing is left to chance on the estate’s 1,000 hectares, including 100 allocated to vines: recycling of water and hot air, low carbon tractors, protection of flora and fauna and a frog pond, nesting boxes and a Pacha garden, named after the rare Provencal butterfly.

As well as hosting visitors in its Villa Engardin gite, the Estate organises a wide range of entertainment and events, from the themed guided tour to the wine tasting lessons, summer concerts, safari evenings and hikes across its 35km of wooded trails.
