10 a.m. – La Maison des Sancerre, Sancerre

Fun, instructive and accessible to all, this visit provides an overview of the characteristics unique to this AOC, from its geology to the work carried out in the cellar. 4D cinema, scenographic space and tasting on the panoramic terrace. Simple yet effective.

1 p.m. – Lunch at Bistro des Monts Damnés, Chavignol

Traditional home cooking and stews at this warm and friendly village restaurant. Don’t leave without trying the famous Crottin, the village’s iconic goat’s cheese.

3 p.m. – Tour du Pouilly-Fumé, Pouilly-sur-Loire

Cross the Loire and head towards the small village of Pouilly-sur-Loire for a visit to the aroma cellar, the Cave aux Arômes©. Summer is a busy time in Pouilly! There are lots of activities to choose from, including wine tastings in a secluded spot beside the Loire river, a walk through the vineyards with winemakers, the Foire aux Vins wine festival, and much more.

10 a.m. – Visit to Saint Étienne de Bourges Cathedral

This masterpiece of Gothic art is the town’s pride and joy and offers an amazing panoramic view of the capital of Berry from the top of its Tour de Beurre. Next stop is the Palais Jacques Cœur, Bourges’ other unmissable sight.

1 p.m. – Lunch at C’Heu l’Zib, Menetou-Salon

This cosy and rustic spot is a local institution with a somewhat unusual name. Long wooden tables, typical Berry-style chairs and on the plate a selection of iconic dishes including pike in a cream sauce, chicken with garlic and parsley and rabbit in a traditional sauce. Excellent gourmet restaurant.

3 p.m. – Domaine Jean Teiller, Menetou-Salon

Time to find out more about this special Sancerre AOC, which this year celebrates its 60th anniversary. Tour of the estate and tasting of the 100% organic wines with Jean-Jacques, manager and keeper of the family’s winemaking tradition.
